At Orono Wrestling, our coaching staff is committed to developing strong athletes, strong students, and even stronger individuals. With a focus on technical skill, mental toughness, and personal growth, our coaches create an environment where wrestlers of all levels can thrive.
Together, we lead with passion, discipline, and a commitment to excellence—both on and off the mat.
You’ll see many of our coaches working across different levels — tots, youth, middle school, JV, and varsity. We are committed to building one team and creating a unified program that supports our wrestlers from PK through 12th grade. Along with our coaching staff, many of our middle school and high school athletes volunteer at the youth level, providing mentorship and helping younger wrestlers develop their skills. Many of our dads also step in to assist, ensuring that every wrestler receives the individualized attention they need to grow and succeed. By working together across all age groups, we create a strong foundation, a consistent culture, and a true family atmosphere throughout Orono Wrestling.
When the Grinch Shows Up to Wrestle
Sometimes, we even add a little fun to the mix… like when Coach Tim Flannery (aka The Grinch) jumps in to wrestle with our youth wrestlers! From lighthearted surprises to unexpected match-ups, we love creating moments that keep the kids smiling while building confidence and team spirit.
